  • Arturo Toscanini is one of the most prominent musicians from the late 19th and early 20th century. Now, 150 years after his birth, Italian industrial group, Salini Impregilo, and its U.S. subsidiary, Lane, are organizing a series of events in both Italy and America to honor the late musician.
  • A double tribute to the legendary maestro Arturo Toscanini is about to arrive. The first component of this double tribute is a book, written by Marco Capra with foreword by Maestro Riccardo Muti, devoted to Toscanini's life. The second component is a magical evening at the Rizzoli Bookstore, which will be hosting an exclusive New York performance by members of the La Scala Symphony on the evening of Wednesday, March 29th starting at 6:00 PM. This event is generously sponsored by Lane, the U.S. subsidiary of Italian construction giant Salini Impregilo.
  • A Sicilian man, a brooding scientist, looks at the beautiful sea in front of him. His mind is going in a million different directions tackling impossibly hard ideas such as anti-matter, the neutrino masses, long equations, fermions... He then embarks on a ship from Palermo to Naples and suddenly disappears leaving a few words with little explanation on why he wants to escape. Did he run away? Did he die? Where did he actually go?
  • The iconic bookstore Rizzoli reopened its doors to much fanfare on Tuesday, July 21st in a brand new location in the NoMad neighborhood. This move comes approximately a year after its controversial closure on 57th Street despite the protests of many aficionados, and is seen as a feel-good story following the seemingly ominous closures of Pearl Plant and J&R Music and Computer World last year.

    Rizzoli has just published a new book on the designer from Piacenza by the title “I cretini non sono mai eleganti: Giorgio Armani in parole sue.” The volume, edited by Paola Pollo, was released to celebrate Armani's 80th birthday, which occurred on July 11th.
  • The building at 31 West Fifty-seventh Street that houses Rizzoli’s flagship store will be demolished, along with the two neighboring structures, making way for a new high tower. Friday, April 11th, 2014 will be the last day in this chapter of life of the cherished New York City bookstore.
  • The Rizzoli Bookstore building is an icon of New York City architecture and one of the most beautiful commercial spaces in America. After 30 years, it is now facing the threat of demolition.
