  • Massimiliano Gatti's new photo exhibition "The Day Memory Dissolved"

    Italian photographer Massimilano Gatti opened up his new exhibition entitled "The Day Memory Dissolved" on Tuesday night at the Italian Academy on the Upper West Side.
  • With upbringings rooted in traditional values, the photographers of postwar Italy considered the landscape to be integral part of their lives and photographic practice. For these photographers, the Italian landscape served as a symbol for life, religion, and their reverence for their homeland. Ranging from the representational to the abstract, their depictions of their surroundings share an inclination towards experimentation with composition, contrast, and repetition.

  • A fascinating photographic exhibit on view at Casa Italiana Zerilli-Marimò until June 19th. Ralph Toporoff speaks to the audience on the opening night and shares his amazing life changing experience. “The Leap of the Leopard: 1963-2013” is in celebration of the 50th anniversary of Luchino Visconti's masterpiece film Il Gattopardo. On view for this special occasion are his photographs on the set of the film fifty years ago. Also on display are two original film posters, made available by Posteritati.
  • The first solo exhibition of Italian fashion photographer Dawidh Orlando, on view at Three Square Studio Gallery until the end of June, ranges from cheeky tableau to documentary photography, without excluding all the beautiful people and celebrities out there.
