    Thusday March 10 marks the beginning of the second edition of the Women in the World Summit in New York, an event that gathers women worldwide committed to the fight against gender discrimination. The goal is to raise international awareness and take a strong stand in issues regarding women around the world. Italy will be represented by Emma Bonino

    The Italian Cultural Institute of New York held a symposium about women’s rights, equality, and empowerment. Participants included the Italian Minister for Equal Opportunity Mara Carfagna and Emma Bonino, Vice President of the Italian Senate and co-founder of No Peace Without Justice
  • 99 years after the Triangle Shirtwaist Fire many people gathered for a moving commemoration and a series of educational events to inspire everyone to create a safer and better world. The Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire ( March 25, 1911) was the largest industrial disaster in the history of New York, causing the death of 148 garment workers (Jewish and Italian women) who either died from the fire or jumped to their deaths. It was the worst workplace disaster in the City until September 11, 2001.
