Following the Italy Run, organized by the Consulate together with Nutella Cafe and New York Road Runners, which took place on June 2nd, the celebrations for Italian National Day picked up again the following day at the Italian Trade Agency, the Italian Cultural Institute and the Consulate General of Italy, with a series of events featuring prominent Italian brands, figures, food, and a delightful jazz performance by Chiara Civello.

From June 30 to July 2, the most important food and drink trade fair in North America took place in New York for its 64th edition. The Italian Pavilion was the undisputed ruler of the event with more than 300 companies. A sparkling occasion to celebrate and award Italian wines and their constantly increasing success in the US market. The 33rd edition of the gala, hosted by the Italian Wine and Food Institute and his president Dr. Lucio Caputo, dazzled the crowd of media personalities and VIPs with an elegant ceremony held at the Grand Ballroom of Manhattan’s Essex House. The event is organized under the patronage of the Italian Ambassador to the US in Washington, Armando Varricchio with the support of the Italian Ministry of Economic Development and in collaboration with the ICE - Italian Trade Commission. Special awardees of the night included Ambassador Sebastiano Curdi, Permanent Representative of Italy to the United Nations in New York, and Dr. Maurizio Forte, the Italian Trade Commissioner.
