An Italian award, annually given to an American journalist will be awarded to a true star American financial reporter. The Ambassador of Italy to the United States, Claudio Bisogniero will deliver the official announcement, on April 15 at an event organized at the Embassy in Washington.

"Chicago is home to some of the main events of the Year of Culture," said the Ambassador of Italy to the United States, Claudio Bisogniero. "Being able to count on an exceptional testimonial and world-renowned personalities such as Maestro Muti, or quality and artistic tradition of Piccolo Teatro of Milan, makes our event particularly unique," he added.

Thanks to the Year of Italian Culture in the US, Italy and United States are even more closely tied. The first part of the initiative presented a full calendar of cultural events involving art, music, theater, sciences, and design in major US cities, such as Washington DC, New York, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. In this interview, Ambassador of Italy Claudio Bisogniero tells us about the satisfactions, difficulties and successes encountered so far and talks about the projects and events prepared for the upcoming months. One of them involving the unveiling a Hellenistic Greek sculpture dated to around 330 B.C titled Boxer of Quirinal, which will be on view at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on loan from the collection of the National Museum of Rome.

“Amerigo to America: the Legacy of Italians in the Americas” is the title chosen by the Italian Heritage & Culture Committee of New York for this year's Italy Culture Month.
