As in architecture and history, Italy’s great eno-gastronomical asset is its diversity. Which brings us to this small selection of restaurants in New York dedicated to Northern Italian cuisine and its variety of rich flavors. From polenta to farinata, braised meat to pesto, risotto Milanese to liver alla veneziana: there are so many interpretations of these dishes that take us back to the ambience of that part of Italy underneath the Alps. He wants to create awareness of the flaws in the way the food industry currently operates, which focuses solely on spectacle and consumerism.
  • Two months of intense organizational efforts from i-Italy between Naples and New York, a great collaboration with the Consulate General and the other institutions of Sistema Italia, enthusiastic and generous support from all sectors of the community. These ingredients made for the success of the mayor of Naples Luigi De Magistris’ trip to New York. Street encounters in the Little Italies of Manhattan and the Bronx, conferences in the two major university institutes, meetings with entrepreneurs and tourism agencies – and a great human connection with mayor Bill de Blasio. At the center of it all, an atypical and unexpected Naples, the emblem of an inclusive city, which volunteers alongside New York to jumpstart an international movement towards the globalization of the rights to citizenship – a globalization of humans, not just of capital and merchandize.

  • IACE annual assembly and award ceremony for the teachers who have brought the largest number of students to sustain the Italian AP exam. The goal was reached one year ahead of schedule: the number of American high school students enrolled in the Italian AP (Advanced Placement) exam this coming Spring has already surpassed 2,500, the minimum that had to be reached by 2016 to keep the test alive. And 60% out of the 2.993 students who signed up to take the exam come from the states of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut, where IACE operates.
